Cosmur was originally engaged on this project to carry out excavation works for the new basement. We were then retained to complete all of the substructure works, and subsequently approached to construct the entire Mosque, which is the largest in Western Europe.

Scope of works:

  • New build.
  • The structure of the building is a steel frame on a piled contiguous retaining wall.
  • Pile caps supporting the basement floor.
  • Ladies’ prayer hall on the lower ground floor and a men’s prayer hall on the raised ground floor.
  • Several ancillary areas.
  • The outside skin of the building is a marble main screen and the internal walls are dry lined.
