London Road Mosque

Project name and location:

Ahmadiyya Mosque, Morden

Brief summary of the project:

Cosmur originally completed the excavation of a new basement before being commissioned to complete all substructure works and then construct the entire Mosque. A steel frame structure rests on a contiguous piled retaining wall to provide internal areas including ladies’ and mens’ prayer halls. The latter is a triple height room topped by a large dome. All internal works were finished to very high standard. At the time of completion, this building was the largest Mosque in Western Europe.
