Our Directors

Our Board of directors recognise the importance of a high standard of governance in managing
and dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders. This means putting the right policies, procedures
and guidelines in place to ensure our values and standards are embedded throughout.

Paul Conway, Managing Director

Paul is Managing Director and co-owner of Cosmur with over 40 years’ experience of working within
the building industry. He initially joined Cosmur in 1985 and has worked in all areas of the business
from estimating, surveying, and management, before becoming director in July 1992.
Paul has overseen the development and delivery of projects across all sectors and has worked with a
range of clients including local authorities, public bodies and framework providers. Paul’s experience
also extends to the running of steering groups, resident association committees and design forums.
Paul is passionate about helping tackle the shortage of skilled workers and has worked as Director of
the London Construction Training Group (LRCTG) for many years, promoting training and
employment opportunities with like-minded SMEs for the next generation.

gained extensive knowledge working on a range of new build and refurbishment projects across all
our sectors.

Syed Naeem, Business and Development Director

Syed first joined Cosmur in 2010 as Business Development Manager before rising through the ranks
to Business Development Director and HR Director in 2014.
Syed’s remit is wide ranging and covers business development in addition to overseeing all tender
and bid work. He is also responsible for identifying new opportunities and nurturing a pipeline of
strategies for work alongside building relationships with clients, framework providers, consultants,
marketing and human resources:

“What I really love is that every day is different in construction. From the very start of my career in
marketing and fundraising for local authorities, it’s been challenging and most satisfying in equal
measure. The team work aspect, with everyone pulling together to build something, is amazing. I
often drive past buildings and say ‘We built that!’ to my kids, and that’s the point – there is so much
more to creating a building than just laying the bricks.”

Hugo Dunnell, Operations Director

Beginning as a Management trainee, Hugo progressed to the role of Contracts Manager before
being appointed as Operations Director in February 2019.
Hugo has now been with Cosmur for over 11 years and is responsible for overseeing the commercial
and delivery aspects of Cosmur, ensuring certainty of delivery, measuring team performance and
actively promoting success against key benchmarks for all of our projects.
Hugo is highly experienced in the management of complex projects across the education, residential
and commercial sectors alongside promoting constructive co-operation, partnering and continuous
improvement, both internally and externally.
Outside of work, Hugo is family oriented, with two young children.
