Cosmur successfully negotiated the refurbishment of Harry Morgans restaurant in St Johns Wood High Street. Established in 1948 by Harry Morgan, a local butcher, this once tiny takeaway deli is now the largest and most famous New York Style Deli Restaurant in London. Harry Morgans is located within an affluent area surrounded by a parade of busy retail outlets. Maintaining minimal disruption to the local businesses and members of the public was of a paramount importance in the successful delivery of this project. Our strong presence in the social housing sector and recent success in securing the 2014/2015 internal and external refurbishment works programme for the London Borough of Havering has created vacancies within our Resident Liaison Team. This project involved a ground floor Sainsbury’s Local and nine residential flats, aimed at the high end re-sale market. Situated in a residential area, on a busy link road between Wandsworth Bridge and Parsons Green, made it a logistical challenge for deliveries, however the traffic management plan avoided peak times and encouraged suppliers to use smaller vehicles. As with all Cosmur site projects, this was registered under the Considerate Constructors Scheme to ensure minimal disruption to residents who were an integral part of our communication plan. Barking and Dagenham Council have thanked Cosmur for its ongoing support in providing training and work experience opportunities for locals schools and colleges through the East London Solutions Framework. “It is important to us young people recognise the career potential of the construction industry and we will provide a safe, supported learning environment that will help encourage construction as a career choice.”
As part of the summer works programme Cosmur carried out the internal and external refurbishment of Dudin Brown and Bay House building at the School of Art Campus in Hampstead, for King’s College London. The building was let to summer students throughout the 10 week contract period. This required careful planning and interfacing to ensure minimum disruption to the occupants, local residents and visitors to the Hampstead Cemetery, which was in close proximity to the project.
Elm Tree Road adjoins Lord’s cricket ground and is situated within the St. John’s Wood Conservation Area. This project entailed the demolition of a large two storey detached property to provide a contemporary high specification 5 bedroom family home, whilst retaining some of the characteristics of the original building.

Cosmur are pleased to announce that we have won The General Construction (Lower Value) Framework with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham (LBBD). The Framework will cover small projects ranging from £50,000 to £2,000,000. Cosmur have beaten hundreds of competitors to become one of six approved contractors. The exciting news is that this framework is part of the East London Solutions Group, and is going to be used by other East London Boroughs including; Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Tower Hamlets over the period of 4 years. This is very exciting news for Cosmur and we look forward to working with the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham and furthermore the East London Solutions Group.
Cosmur Construction was invited to collect the 2013 National Site Award at the Plaisters Hall, in London. Our Twickenham Preparatory School site was awarded the Bronze award and recognised for its contribution towards improving the image of construction. This is an exceptional achievement for Cosmur as we have received this award for the last 2 years consecutively which demonstrates our commitment towards local neighbourhoods, the public, our workforce and the environment.
