North London Hospice
This project required the extension, alterations and remodelling of the patient accommodation and common areas of the existing Hospice to provide additional space.
The contract was carried out whilst the Hospice remained occupied and fully operational. This necessitated phased working and extensive environmental controls to minimize vibrations and dust emissions, especially when working within the building itself.
Due to the sensitive nature of the Hospice’s work, particular attention had to be paid to noise levels to ensure that disturbance to both patients and visitors was minimized.
The nature of the site also introduced a number of complexities which required extra consideration and close liaison with the Hospice Manager, including access and egress activities, fire escape routes, and emergency & evacuation procedures,
