Handover at the University of Westminster
A formal Opening Ceremony was held at the landmark Regent Street building, to mark the opening of the MBI Al Jaber Grand Hall, and the handover of completed works by Cosmur, to the University. The event took place on Wednesday 26th May 2010, and was attended by Sir Francis Mackay and Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Geoffrey Petts, with the Guest of Honour, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Issa Al Jaber.
Cosmur are very proud to have been contracted to carry out the refurbishment works to the Grand Hall of the then ‘Polytechnic’, originally opened in 1912.
This was the culmination of a series of contracts Cosmur have undertaken for the University on this and a number of the other campus buildings, including works to the University’s Halls of Residence in Harrow.
All the works have taken place during term time, whilst the buildings have remained open and fully operational, requiring high standards of Health & Safety, and a flexible approach on our part, to accommodate the normal timetables of the University, such as Study Weeks and exam times.
